We continue to share the stories of those who attended the 8.5-Day Health & Happiness Retreat in September 2016.

What many experienced was a lightness of spirit, peacefulness, and reclamation of their life. Bodhi Meditation is easy to learn, offers quick results and the benefits are innumerable.

Serena, Sylvia and Sheridan share their stories:

Serena suffers from gastrointestinal issues.

She had been taking 80mg of Nexium since 2004. Without it, she would vomit throughout the night. After her first retreat in June, she dropped her dose to 20mg without any affect. She says she is so much better. Since coming to Bodhi, she can feel the acid and alkaline balancing.

As well, the layers are peeling away and she is getting in touch with her inner self.

Sylvia shared her gift of music by playing the flute. This was her fourth retreat. When she came to her first retreat in January 2016, she thought dying was her only solution. But today she continues to feel happier and happier. There’s no more darkness. Instead, the Universe is filled with light that she found within herself, her real self. She realized that her inner self isn’t as worthless as she thought.

“I opened the window and let light into every corner. I was the one who closed it. Now I chose to open it. I am no longer hidden or hiding.”

Sylvia has been a flutist for 25 years, but after practicing GI since January, she’s received more energy and has more air space. Now it’s easier for her to control her breathing while playing, with less effort. It showed in her performance. She played from her heart, with universal energy.

Sheridan 2016

Sheridan said there were four important days in his life: The day he married; the birth of each of his two children; and last Saturday, the first day of the retreat. He said he knew instantly that the Centre was a special place. He came with no specific ills, but felt a blockage, something holding him back. He said he knew he had been selfish and self-centered and thought, “Boy, are you in the right place.” He hoped for spiritual awakening.

During the retreat, he learned about kindness, compassion and unconditional love. His heart began to sing. When he arrived, his “tool box” was light, but now it is much fuller so he can now touch others in a positive way. He learned to love and laugh, be less judgmental, more accepting of people and things just as they are. He learned to breathe deeply, stop worrying so much and be in the moment. He stopped, literally, to look at a tree that he’d often passed just to appreciate its beauty. Now he smiles for no reason, appreciates his many blessings and feels empathetic towards those who suffer.

His wife, Wendy, noted that he’s glowing.
