The 8.5-Day Health & Happiness Retreat in July 2018 was a family affair. The Pan family came from Victoria, B.C. Eugene and Nicole brought their daughters, both figure skaters. After the retreat, Regine and Renee let us know that they were landing their jumps and had more confidence in their abilities. A month later, they both received gold in a skating competition. The family expressed gratitude for their experience. This is what they shared with the class at the end of the retreat:

The Pan Family

Nicole: I’m the mom of Regine and Renee, wife of Eugene. The word I take away with me is BALANCE. I learned through the teachings and the simple gestures of meditation how to balance my body because I have many roles: I work, I’m a wife, a mom, someone’s daughter, someone’s daughter-in-law. I am an accountant and one of my jobs is to reconcile accounts. Reconciliation is one of the biggest tasks for me. The accounts always have to be balanced and I found that if I reconcile every week, usually I have no problem at all, but if I wait and do it quarterly, then I spend a longer time at it. I need to balance myself every day. I should love myself more. For all the situations that happen and for my reactions, I have to reconcile myself daily. Through the meditations, I realized I should do this every day so I can have inner peace, so that whatever the situation I can remain peaceful and not be emotional or irritated.

Regine: My words are POSITIVE and HAPPY. Usually I have negative thoughts, but now I have more positive thoughts. I’m really happy to be here.  I’m glad to have the Golden Words which make me more confident.

Renee: GRATEFUL. I’m really grateful to be here; grateful that my dad brought us here. Everyone is so welcoming and kind.

Eugene: I’m very grateful to be at this retreat. I must have done a lot of good things in my previous life to be able to meet so many wonderful people here. I’m truly grateful. I have so much GRATITUDE.
