2019 Volunteer Appreciation

Our 4th Annual Volunteer Appreciation “High Tea” Event, on Sunday, March 31, 2019, was a warm, savory success.  We celebrated and acknowledged with gratitude Grandmaster JinBodhi, the Bodhi Meditation Centre, and our tireless volunteers, and all our guests.

The theme was Service – every day we have the opportunity to serve others. For instance, we may offer to get coffee or tea for someone, may lend an ear, share our experiences as we give others hope, or care for someone who is ill. As we learn through Bodhi Meditation, compassion is the key to a successful life; to live in the most meaningful way we can. Our volunteers are compassionate and they embody the meaning of service. Congratulations to all those who enjoy the blessings and fulfill their purposes.

More than 200 guests enjoyed High Tea, complete with scones and Devonshire cream, and jam of course, cucumber sandwiches, and a variety of sweets.

We acknowledged our volunteers for their work in 2018. Our volunteers are invaluable. They take on many tasks, from cleaning the center to inserting flyers in magazines, greeting people for classes and retreats to setting up cushions. Many offer their skills to help us help more people. For that we are so grateful. This year we congratulated Jenna for her 1500 hours of service in 2018.

We distributed more than 60 gifts in the raffle draw. And we were entertained by some of our talented Bodhi participants. Dancing, smiles, laughter, comradery, and a splash of spring.

If you missed the fun at our appreciation evening this year, we’ll do something equally entertaining next year.
