In October 2016, Bodhi Meditation held it’s second 7-Day Chanting Retreat in English. More than 100 people attended. To chant means to repeat mantras – a group of words – to channel Universal energy and create transformation. Students get to know themselves on a deeper level and release physical and emotional pain. They also connect to the love they have for themselves. Students shared their progress throughout the week and again on the last day of the retreat. Here are more of their stories.

Daniela first came from Romania to the Bodhi Meditation Centre in Vancouver in 2014. She had to overcome her fear of flying to make the first trip. She had been so scared that she just gripped the chair and chanted” Ah Mi Tuh”. This was her sixth retreat and during the flight she was not scared at all. After hearing Michelle’s testimony at the retreat in April, 2016, Daniella began practicing prostration. She did 108 per day for 108 days. After 108 days, she felt she had to do more. So she did.  She said, “I am definitely on the path of Master JinBodhi and his teachings. My wish to spread his dharma in Romania has come to fruition.”

Mabel’s lungs healed. She’s sure of it. Before the retreat she couldn’t walk a block without resting. Now she can walk without being out of breath. As well, her nose, which always ran, has stopped. She still reaches for tissues out of habit, but doesn’t need them. “So much healing,” she said.
