This festive salad hits all the notes of the season: citrusy, nutty, tangy. It will become a family favourite. The Crispy Friend Onions add a surprisingly delicious element to the salad.
Ingredients & Instruction
- 1 or 2 heads butter lettuce or romaine, torn
- 1 can mandarin oranges, drained
- 1 cup pecans, sautéed
- ½ can (or more if desired) French’s Crispy Fried Onions
Place ingredients in a bowl.
Dressing:
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 medium red onion (red onion adds a festive colour)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ½ cup cider vinegar
- 1 ½ tsp celery seeds
In a blender mix all dressing ingredients for 30 seconds. Add to the salad and toss to coat.
