On the last day of the 8.5-Day Health & Happiness Retreat we share, heal, inspire, open our hearts, and support others. We learned throughout the retreat that Bodhi Meditation is one prescription that heals all. Here are more stories from students who attended the November 2017 retreat:

Davinder has been attending Bodhi Meditation on and off for a while, but this was her first retreat and the vibrant energy of Buddha and Grandmaster JinBodhi touched her so deeply. The energy of The Meditation of Greater Illumination stayed with her at home. She could feel it. Her daughter even commented on how she looked different and how her energy was different.

Josephine is waiting for hip replacement surgery in the Spring of 2018. When she arrived for the retreat her body was in excruciating pain and she limped while walking. During The Meditation of Greater Illumination (GI) she could barely stand as she was so unbalanced, but she kept her eyes open to steady herself and she did the motions. By Day 3, she could stand on her feet for two GIs while her body rocked and rolled and her muscles vibrated. She got stronger as the days went on and could stand for three GIs with her eyes closed. Now her body is sturdy, her hip and pelvic area balanced. She is in alignment. “I can be better!”

Kathryn first came to Bodhi Meditation four years ago. She was broken, in pain, and needed a double hip replacement. Her meditation practice built up her strength and she could then walk over a speed bump without falling. She did have surgery on one hip, but has got to the point where she does not need a surgery on the other hip. “The cruel nerve pain and muscle spasms are gone.”

Natalya shared that she was not able to be with her mother when she died or attend her funeral and for nine years she carried pain and guilt. During chanting she asked her mother for forgiveness and she was given a great gift – her mother appeared to her, smiled and forgave her.

Karen, who has meditated on her own for three years, usually goes to Hawaii at this time of the year, but something told her not to book the trip. She lives near the Bodhi Meditation Centre and drives by often, but had never come in. She decided to research Bodhi and saw that a retreat was happening the week she should be in Hawaii. She’s so grateful she came to the retreat and for the support she received. “This is a safe place to go deeper into the meditation and cry and release.”
